Appsee’s Alerts feature allows you to never miss the moment when a certain metric changes or your app crashes. Enabling Appsee Alerts is a great way to monitor critical issues, as you will be notified of triggered alerts immediately. Alerts are customizable to any type of occurrence in your app (e.g. an increase in crashes; a decrease in conversion rate).

You’ll find the alerts page by selecting Alerts in the left-hand column on your dashboard. Alerts are very easy to set up and involve three steps: trigger, action and test.

Trigger

You can fine tune alerts to your liking based on one of two triggers:

When a session crashes

This will alert you of any crashed session that occurs within the selected app.

When a metric changes

This will alert you to changes in the metrics of your choosing.

You may set all triggers with the conditions of greater than, less than, greater than or equal to, or less than or equal to (>, <, >=, <=).

These are the triggers available for you to monitor via Appsee Alerts:

Once you set your desired trigger, you may select your preferred notification action for each time the Alert is triggered.

Action

We offer four different notification actions for you to choose from. You may have multiple actions for each alert.

  • Send an SMS – Send an SMS message to the provided mobile phone number.
  • Send an Email – Send an email to the entire team or to selected users in your Appsee account.
  • Call a Webhook – Perform an HTTP POST request to the defined address. Please see further explanation here.
  • Send a Slack Message – Send Slack message to the specified channel.

Note: You may choose how often you want to be notified of any triggered alerts. For example, you can choose to receive a notification as the alert is triggered, or once every 24 hours.

Alert Freeze

You are also able to set an Alert “freeze” to prevent Appsee from sending too many alerts in a given time:

Test

After you set up your trigger and action, you will be able to preview your alert and decide whether to make any further changes or to “set it free”.
